Adrenaline Mob "Coverta"

I’m going to try something new here. This is going to be my first review of an EP of all covers songs. Yesterday (March 12, 2013) heavy metal band Adrenaline Mob released an EP of all covers called Coverta (a slick rewording of the title of their debut album, Omertà).

Van Halen "A Different Kind of Truth"

I’ve concentrated mostly on newer rock acts up to this point. This time I’m going to make some room for a classic rock act, one we all should know; Van Halen. A bit over a year ago they released A Different Kind of Truth; their first album of all newly recorded material since 1998’s Van Halen III, and their first with frontman David Lee Roth since 1984’s 1984. The result is a fine piece of work that has shown the band age very well through their long recording hiatus.

Fall and Divide "Fall and Divide"

If there is one point I have tried to bring across in my reviews is the importance of originality. It is the bands that are hard to compare to any other band out there that are the bands that are always most worth listening to, because there is simply nothing to compare them to. Such can definitely be said about Toronto rock outfit Fall and Divide.

Halestorm "The Strange Case Of..."

Halestorm have really made a name for themselves since their 2009 debut in to the mainstream. For starters, they had a prominent spot in the first Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival in 2010 opening the main stage for such bands as Stone Sour, Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed. It seemed they could only go up from there, and that they did. A certain Grammy win for “Best Hard Rock/Metal Song” should say enough. In honour of the Grammy win, it only seems right to make this review on their most recent release, The Strange Case Of..., released in April of 2012, which showed the band expand on their already tremendous sound.
